Southern African Endurance Series Welcomes Motorcycle Racing Series SA for 2025

"But the media coverage we’ll get is worth more than a victory lap with a checkered flag..."

Buckle your seatbelts—or should I say, fasten your helmets—because the Southern African Endurance Series (SAES) is cranking up the adrenaline by adding a two-wheeled twist to its already thrilling lineup. That’s right—2025 is set to be a game-changer as the Motorcycle Racing Series SA (MRSSA) joins the party, bringing with it a roaring collection of superbikes, daredevil riders, and enough horsepower to make even the V8 National Championship blush.

The recent Four Hours of Kyalami saw MRSSA dipping its toe into the world of endurance racing, and let’s just say they were more than impressed. Slick organization, top-notch competition, and increased exposure on SuperSport and YouTube livestreams? MRSSA was hooked faster than a superbike in the straights. The decision to jump onboard with SAES was as clear as a well-lit pit lane.

Mick Landi, MRSSA Committee member and part-time racing sage, summed it up perfectly: “With the cost of racing going through the roof—and circuit hire not getting any cheaper—it made sense to team up with a prestigious National Championship like SA Endurance. Not only do we consolidate costs, but the media coverage we’ll get is worth more than a victory lap with a checkered flag. Plus, who knows? Maybe we’ll attract a few more sponsors to keep the wheels turning—literally and figuratively.”

The MRSSA will be fielding six of their most heart-pounding classes at each SAES round next season. The headliner? The 1000 Unlimited open superbike class, which is basically the rockstar of the motorcycle racing world. Not to be outdone, the Super 600, Botts V4, Sub 500, the Masters class for riders over 45, and a novice class for those just getting their racing legs (or wheels) will also be burning rubber on the tarmac.

SAES CEO Wayne Riddell couldn’t be more thrilled. “We’re delighted to welcome MRSSA to the SA Endurance National Championship Series. Their addition will not only boost the variety of racing we offer but will also give fans even more value for their hard-earned money. And let's be honest, who doesn't love a little extra bang for their buck?”

Formula Vee.

With the Super Vee single-seater championship already on the tour and guest appearances by Silver Cup saloon car racers at Inland events, the SAES just became the hottest ticket in town. Riddell and his Board of Directors are looking forward to a long, mutually beneficial relationship with MRSSA—a partnership that promises to be as enduring as the races themselves.
