From Posh Pickups to Produce-Hauling Fiats, Stellantis Got You Covered
Imagine a farmer’s market, but instead of artisanal jams and dubious-looking kale, it’s filled with shiny new cars. That’s basically the Stellantis stand at NAMPO 2024, and let me tell you, it’s enough to make a cow moo with confusion.
We’ve got the new Citroen C3 Aircross, fresh out the box and ready to hit the dirt… well, maybe not the real dirt. More like the dirt path leading to the overpriced avocado stand at the market. But hey, it looks good!
Speaking of looks, there’s the Alfa Romeo Tonale – all sleek and stylish, like a sports car that accidentally got dragged through a sustainability seminar. Don’t worry, it still goes fast (and saves the planet!).
Of course, no farm is complete without a trusty bakkie, and Stellantis has you covered there too. Enter the PEUGEOT Landtrek, with the most spacious loadbin on the market according to their brochure (which I assume they didn’t let near any actual mud).
But wait, there’s more! The ever-optimistic Fiat has brought along their 500 Dolcevita Cab. Now, I’m not sure how practical this little sunshine-colored car is for hauling hay bales, but those agricultural economics students might just find it the perfect ride to lectures on sustainable farming practices (because, you know, irony).
The real workhorses, though, are the Fiorino vans. These little guys are perfect for zipping fresh produce to market or delivering feed to the stables – just don’t expect them to win any drag races against John Deere tractors.
Rounding out the collection is the Opel Zafira Life, the minivan that screams “management retreat” louder than a rooster at dawn. But hey, if you need to transport the whole farm crew to that mandatory team-building paintball outing, this is your ride.
So, whether you’re a farmer looking for a rugged Jeep to handle the toughest terrain, a student needing a ride to class that screams “I care about the environment!”, or just someone escaping the Free State sun for a bit, Stellantis has you covered.
Just be sure to pack your umbrella – even though they promise an exciting and pram-friendly experience, I wouldn’t count on the actual Free State weather cooperating.
