Interviewed – Chery Tiggo 8 Pro MAX
In a surprising turn of events, I found myself behind the wheel of the Chery Tiggo Pro 8 Max, and let me tell you, it was as if I’d discovered a new planet. This vehicle, sporting all the trimmings one expects from a Chery, managed to astonish me – and that’s no small feat. It’s like it was designed with the tragically optimistic golfer in mind: not only can it swallow a golf bag and an optimistic number of extra balls for those of us whose swings are more ‘hopeful’ than ‘skilled’, but there’s also ample space left for the hefty load of excuses that inevitably accompany our game.
While some of my fellow scribes have been a tad grumpy about its thirst for fuel, my experience was more cheerful. The Tiggo Pro 8 Max sipped fuel at a respectable 8.5 liters per 100 kilometers, a figure that won’t have you weeping at the petrol station.
And, as if the car wasn’t intriguing enough, we managed to get this Chery to spill the beans on its identity, offering insights that added layers to its already compelling character.
