Mahindra’s Electric SUV Revolution
Mahindra & Mahindra, one of India’s leading SUV manufacturers, has taken a significant leap towards the future of electric mobility with its new state-of-the-art INGLO EV platform and the introduction of five electric SUVs under two distinctive EV brands. This move underscores Mahindra’s commitment to leading the electric mobility revolution in India, driven by its core pillars of Brand, Design, and Technology.
The introduction of two new brands, Iconic XUV and the electric-only BE, sets the stage for Mahindra’s foray into the electric vehicle market. The Iconic XUV brand aims to build upon Mahindra’s rich legacy while embracing the future, offering a sophisticated futuristic design, pulsating performance, and dynamic innovation, targeting customers with a passion for adventurous living. On the other hand, the BE brand embodies boldness, excitement, and exhilaration, catering to customers who desire to define their own life journey.

These two brands find their expression through five e-SUVs: the XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09. The company plans to launch the first four of these between 2024 and 2026, with the vision of selling a quarter of its SUVs as electric vehicles by 2027.
At the heart of these electric SUVs lies the groundbreaking INGLO platform, combining progressive battery technology, platform architecture, brain power, and human-machine interface. The platform symbolizes a flow and exchange of energy and emotion, aiming to bring harmony to the driving experience. INGLO will serve as the foundation for all Mahindra EVs in the future, offering cutting-edge innovations such as an augmented reality-enabled heads-up display, 5G network capability, and Over-The-Air updates.
The INGLO platform’s adaptability allows Mahindra to create electric SUVs tailored to consumer preferences and lifestyles. It also boasts hyper efficiency, with a giant leap in battery science using safe and robust LFP chemistry, offering options ranging from 60-80 kWhr battery capacity and fast-charging capability.
Mahindra’s electric SUVs promise exhilarating performance, with compact all-in-one electric engines delivering impressive power, allowing acceleration from standstill to 100 kmph in just 5-6 seconds. The powertrain’s efficiency is optimized for class-leading range, supported by an intelligent electronic brake system with best-in-class recuperation potential.
The electric SUVs also offer ultimate vehicle dynamics, with best-in-class semi-active suspension systems providing excellent ride comfort and handling. The brake-by-wire technology allows for multiple brake modes, while the Intelligent Drive Modes enable personalized driving experiences.

Safety remains a top priority for Mahindra, as the electric SUVs are designed to meet the highest safety norms, with a structural cage around the passenger cabin and excellent battery protection using ultra-high strength boron steel. The INGLO platform is futureproofed up to L2+ autonomy with its 5 Radars-1 Vision ADAS architecture.
The electric SUVs’ interiors are designed for versatility, with slim cockpits and flat floors creating flexible spaces and control of seat configurability. The Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality turns the car into a portable power bank, allowing users to charge their devices on the go.
The INGLO platform features next-level brain-power, utilizing a complex neural network and high-performance computers to provide integrated computational capabilities and seamless cloud utilization.
The Mahindra BE Rall-e Concept, showcased in 2023, exemplifies the company’s ambitious electric mobility vision and commitment to sustainability. With its cutting-edge technology, versatile design, and exhilarating performance, Mahindra’s electric SUV lineup is set to redefine the future of mobility in India and beyond. As the world moves towards a cleaner, greener future, Mahindra aims to be at the forefront of the electric mobility revolution.
