On the back of Aleix Espargaro’s victory in the Saturday sprint race, all eyes were on Bagnaia as he started from pole position for Sunday’s main event. The Italian made a lightning-fast start, but the race took a dramatic turn when he was thrown from his bike while exiting Turn 2. To make matters worse, his leg was run over by Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Brad Binder, who had no chance to avoid the incident.

Fortunately, initial reports suggest that Bagnaia has escaped serious injuries, and a hospital check confirmed the absence of fractures, offering a sigh of relief to both Bagnaia and his fans.

The drama didn’t stop there, as another crash, involving Enea Bastianini, led to a red flag, temporarily halting the race. When the action resumed, it was Jorge Martin who seized the opportunity to charge into the lead.

Martin’s time at the front was short-lived, as both Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales made their way past him. RNF Racing’s Miguel Oliveira also managed to overtake the Spaniard, but Martin held his ground and secured a podium finish, narrowing Bagnaia’s lead in the overall standings to just 50 points.

Pramac rider Johann Zarco displayed his skill and determination, managing to claim fourth place after overtaking Oliveira late in the race. Meanwhile, Honda Castrol’s Alex Marquez secured a respectable sixth-place finish.

The Catalan Grand Prix had its share of challenges, with Pol Espargaro crashing out on the opening lap and Brad Binder failing to finish the race. Red Bull KTM Factory rider Jack Miller secured eighth place, while Tech3 rookie Augusto Fernández impressed with a ninth-place finish. Repsol Honda’s Marc Márquez faced a tough race and faded in the closing stages, ultimately finishing in 13th position.
