The LDV D90 – South Africa’s Newest SUV Sensation Arrives
Hold onto your seatbelts, South Africa! The LDV D90 has finally landed, and it’s here to redefine the luxury SUV game. Not only are we the first country outside of China to welcome this beast, but we’ve also snagged the D90 Elite and D90 Flagship models for our first look. It’s like Christmas came early, but instead of Santa, it’s a massive SUV rolling down the driveway.
First Impressions: Styling and Swag
Picture this: a bold front grille, thin LED daytime running lights, and LED automatic headlights that scream, “Get out of my way!” This SUV is not just making an entrance; it’s claiming the stage. And with the standard LDV Black Package, you get gloss black everything—door handles, side mirrors, roof rails, and even those bold wheel arch mouldings. It’s like the D90 just stepped out of a tuxedo fitting and said, “I’m ready for my close-up.”
Inside the Lap of Luxury
Step inside, and you’ll find a luxury playground. We’re talking leather upholstery on all seven seats (yes, seven), dual wireless charging pads, and a 12.3” high-resolution infotainment system that makes other screens look like Etch A Sketches. The D90 Flagship takes it a notch higher with massaging heated front seats and a panoramic sunroof so big, you’ll forget you’re inside a car and not an observatory.
Power and Performance
Under the hood, the D90 is packing a 2-litre dual-turbodiesel engine with 160 kW and 500 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. If that sounds like a lot of numbers, just know it translates to smooth, powerful driving that feels like gliding on buttered toast. And with three diff locks on the Flagship model, you can conquer any terrain South Africa throws at you. Mountains? Pfft. Sand dunes? Child’s play. Your neighbor’s overgrown lawn? Done.
Safety First, Second, and Third
This SUV is not just about looks and power; it’s also a fortress of safety. With six airbags, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keep assist, you’re covered from every angle. The Flagship model even throws in a 360-degree panoramic view camera system, so you’ll see everything from the pothole on your left to the squirrel on your right.
The Big Numbers
With a 2,950 mm wheelbase and a body length of 5,046 mm, this SUV has enough room to comfortably seat seven occupants. Plus, it can tow a braked trailer of up to 3,100 kg. So, whether you’re hauling your boat, caravan, or a trailer full of egos, the D90 has got you covered.
Warranty and Service
As with all LDV models, the D90 comes with a 5-year/200,000 km mechanical warranty and a 5-year/100,000 km service plan. It’s like a VIP pass to worry-free driving.
Stay tuned, South Africa, because the LDV D90 is just getting started. More information on this luxurious beast will be available soon. Until then, keep dreaming big and driving bold.
