Van der Linde and Fittipaldi Impress in Jaguar TCS Racing Rookie Test

Building on the momentum of a hugely successful Berlin race weekend, Jaguar TCS Racing saw their future potential take center stage at the Formula E Rookie Test. South African racer Sheldon van der Linde and Brazilian rookie Enzo Fittipaldi turned heads with their performances at the Tempelhof Circuit on May 13th.

This wasn’t van der Linde’s first rodeo with Jaguar. The seasoned driver, already a three-time participant in the team’s Rookie Tests, showcased his familiarity with the Jaguar I-TYPE 6. He secured a strong P4 finish in the morning session, followed by an even more impressive P3 in the afternoon.

Fittipaldi, on the other hand, was experiencing Formula E and the Jaguar I-TYPE 6 for the very first time. Despite the novelty, the young driver displayed impressive adaptability. He climbed from P13 in the first session to a commendable P6 in the second, proving his quick learning curve.

van der Linde’s experience wasn’t limited to just personal bests. He actively participated in development efforts, testing modifications that could prove crucial for teammate drivers Mitch Evans and Sam Bird in their championship fight.

“It’s always fun to be behind the wheel of the Jaguar I-TYPE 6,” commented van der Linde. High praise from a driver who has clearly established himself as a valuable asset to the team’s future.

Fittipatti echoed the sentiment, highlighting the unique challenges and thrills of electric racing. “It’s different from any other race car,” he admitted, “but I really enjoyed the experience.” Following in the footsteps of his brother, Enzo has made a positive first impression on both the team and the Formula E world.

With the Rookie Test a resounding success, Jaguar TCS Racing sets its sights on the upcoming double-header in Shanghai, China on May 25th and 26th. The confidence gained at the Berlin test, coupled with the team’s current momentum, suggests they’ll be strong contenders in the fight for the championship title.
